“The decision to join the Executive Management MBA at EGP was based on the need to consolidate my overall management skills, which, given my academic training – a Law Degree, are essential to develop my career. It was challenging and demanding training because of its multidisciplinary nature, the teaching method, and also the need to conciliate my personal, professional and school life. A special word to my course colleagues, whose human and professional qualities, besides an unforgettable work and social environment, created strong bonds of Friendship.”
Carlos Morais Pereira, ExMBA Management 2001/02
Research and Development Manager, Primavera Software, S.A
“At the time I was progressing my professional career, the classic problem Engineering Graduates have was highlighted – the need to improve my Management training. Opting for EGP’s Executive MBA came about as a natural response. The multidisciplinary nature, the strong practical component and team work, the constant exchange of experiences, the quality of the teaching staff, are some of the factors which led me to consider this course which is appropriate for the demands of Modern Business Management. In my day to day activities, I am now able to think in a way much more influenced by the management principles whereas before I perhaps made decisions based on technical criteria. This effort – I didn’t want to miss it out – turned out to be of enormous added value, without a doubt, both in fulfilling my role and even on a personal level, due to the many friendships that have been created. ”
Fernando Jaime Fontes, ExMBA Marketing 2001/02

“The difference between “know-how” and “making things happen” is often the key to success! I have always maintained an attitude of greatly identifying with the principles of “ongoing training”. I felt, therefore, a little threatened by not having carried out a sustained update of my knowledge for some time and not focussing on new areas, where I needed solid training and to share experiences. On deciding to attend an Executive MBA in Marketing, I believe I have made successful use of the opportunity that arose before me. I therefore achieved a more effective added value, not only in terms of knowledge acquisition and planning, but also in the experience which the classes, group work, meetings throughout the year and the friendships and exchanges of experiences with colleagues and teachers has provided. The School’s environment, a climate of humanity and high levels of professionalism on the part of all its Representatives, serious and rigorous demands in the work and assessment of results, are very strong points for the Executive MBAs at EGP. Today, the challenge for the School, old, new and in the future, is, without a doubt, to keep this opportunity open to those who deserve to benefit from it !
Margarida Silva, ExMBA Management 2001/02

“Coming from Social Sciences training – the so-called “non-quantatives” -, I took on the Executive MBA as a huge challenge and a valuation proposal. The academic obligations, together with my professional activity and requests in my family life, made this year a period of difficult balances, willpower has always prevailed, facilitated by the strong sense of teamwork. Looking back, a year on, the balance is truly positive. I recommend the Executive MBA at EGP for the eclecticism of the subjects, together with the professionalism of the teachers and, above all, the companionship created amongst colleagues.”
Bernardo Brito e Faro, ExMBA Management 2003/04
Financial Coordinator, Grupo Sogrape
“Besides the human warmth, sometimes almost “maternal”, which surrounds all its students, EGP provided me with the opportunity to rediscover the existence of a great diversity of opinions and different perspectives with which the same topic can be faced, all equally valid and sensible. With a high quality teaching staff, complemented by a close relationship to the business world, I was to discover an excellent School, permanently concerned by doing more and doing better, which I feel I have left with new horizons which help me to understand the reality of business organisations more easily on a daily basis. Those sleepless nights and many weekends of intense work, apart from professional activities which maintained the usual every day pressure, were, for me, greatly compensated with new acquired knowledge, the enrichment of the shared experiences and the networking created and forever added to. The variety and timeliness of the discussed topics, the teaching methods adopted and the effort of the School itself, guarantee me the return for the investment made. At the end of it all, it was worthwhile!”
Conceição Maria Correia Ramos, ExMBA Management 2003/04
Vice-Chair, ADIRA, S.A.
“Coming from an area of training which, from the beginning, was not focussed on Management (Philosophy and Psychology), I was apprehensive about the need to answer questions for which I really was not prepared. The executive MBA was, for me, a growth platform. It gave me technical tools to put into practice, conceptual tools to reflect thereon, and it also gave me the security of those who accept the challenge of taking on unknown subjects, sharing experiences with people from other walks of life (not just professional), managing availability for the family, work, learning, old and new friends, old and new interests. Other than the quality of its teaching, attending EGP has meant attending a stimulating environment, open to exchanges.
As mentioned previously, EGP-UPBS attributes great importance to the diversity of prior training, experiences and the ages of the MBA participants, which it considers fundamental to the enrichment of its training process. The profiles of almost four hundred participants of this programme, can be shown through the graphs below. ¶
